Position Overview
The Ernest Childers Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist to provide high-quality, patient-centered anesthesia services across multiple care settings in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
This role supports surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures in inpatient, outpatient, community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), and emergency department environments. You’ll join a stable, mission-driven team with strong clinical and administrative support while contributing to expanding access to care for our nation’s Veterans.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-anesthesia evaluations, including history & physicals, risk assessment, and individualized care planning
- Deliver anesthesia care across all modalities:
- General
- Regional
- Spinal / epidural
- Monitored anesthesia care (MAC)
- Manage routine, complex, and emergent airways, including advanced airway techniques and mechanical ventilation
- Place and manage invasive monitoring (arterial lines, central venous catheters) as indicated
- Accurately document anesthesia care, plans, and outcomes in the EMR
- Provide clinical supervision and leadership to CRNAs and anesthesia staff
- Mentor and teach physicians, CRNAs, and residents in anesthesia and perioperative best practices
- Collaborate with surgical and perioperative teams to enhance OR efficiency, patient flow, and care quality
Work Environment & Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Minimal on-call responsibilities
- Strong collaboration with nursing and administrative teams

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Competitive Federal package

Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
- Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA certification (or eligibility)
- BLS/ACLS certification
